I want to try poured ganache, but I don't want it to pour all the way down the cake. Any pointers.

Take a soup ladle and pour a scoop of the ganache (warm, not hot) in the center of the top of the cake. Use your angled spatula and slowly pull that puddle of ganache toward the edge of the cake and let it drizzle down the side. Do that the whole way around the cake. Take your time to get the look you want. I always sit my cake on a cooling rack, over a waxed paper lined cookie sheet to catch the drippings. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips! I can't wait to try it. I didn't think about putting the cake on a cooling rack, makes total sense! Thanks again!
