i am doing a eyeball cake this weekend for a haunted house party and need a filling that will ooz out when cut, everything i have tried is either too thick or too runny. thanks for any ideas
Hollow out a section in the cake, coat with buttercream to keep "blood" in, then fill with red piping gel. Set the top layer of the eyeball on top, finished decorating. Then, when you cut into the cake, the "blood" will ooze out.
You're welcome. Hey, if you aren't too busy having fun at the party, take a photo of the cake before and after it is cut so we can see how the blood turned out.

I agree to give your hollowed out area a buttercream crumb coat...how about filling it with that strawberry pie filling you usually find in the produce section next to the strawberries. runny but tasty.
so love the buttercream idea! i wish i was going to be there to see it work unfortunately it's for my boyfriends work and i wont be there to see it so lets hope it is effective. he will definatly take pics for us
