I am a beginner! So please understand my excitement today as I baked my first fluffy totally edible buttermilk cake! Now my problem is when I filled my two 8 in round pans the cake came out a little "flatter" than I wanted. The recipe i used called for two pans. it tasted pretty good but I want the cake to be extra fluffy thick and moist. How do you make the cake do that?
I found this recipe in "The Joy of Cooking"
Buttermilk Layer Cake
2 1/3 Cups of sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 1/3 Cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup buttermilk
