I like to use whole milk in my baking, but since the family doesn't drink it I find that most of it goes to waste. Can I use powdered milk in place of whole milk?
Yes, just reconstitute it according to package directions. It is the equivalent of skim milk, however, so you may notice a slightly drier cake, as you're removing fat from the cake.
thanks Leah, I was hoping it would be closer to whole milk. My family drinks skim so I have tons of that in the house, we just don't drink whole. Oh well, I guess I will just keep buying it 1qt at a time.
