I am attempting to recreate this what I believe is a decorative Chinese luck coin. I have two issues. 1 is wrapping the fondant or I even considered modeling chocolate around the coin so it is completely flat on both sides. In theory I would think that it would bunch in the back. 2 How to recreate the coloring effect it is almost a distressed or weathered look.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

Also, would modeling chocolate be easier to work with and limit any seams better?

THANKS!!
