Hi folks

I want to make some pastillage, and the recipe I'm looking at calls for two teaspoons of gum tragacanth. I only have tylose, should I use it in the same quantity?

This is the recipe:
1 egg white made up from dried egg albumen
2 3/4 cups icing sugar
2t gum tragacanth

Bonus question, can I use meringue powder for the egg part? I have never used that either, I will have to check when I get home if there are instructions on how to mix it.
