I need to make the cake in the shape of a hotel and I have some questions about the support. The cake will be a 10 " square layer cake and there will be two 3 layer 8 " cakes on top of it plus a cake topper made of out of cereal treats.

I plan on doing the assembly at the place so I plan on having the 8 " cakes in one box and the 10 " cake in another. For the 8" cake should I put a dowel rod thru all 6 layers and then once the cake is completly stacked should I put another dowel rod thru it. I'm very nervous about the transporting because it has to go from my house to my job ( which is a 45 min trip). I will sit in my office until it's time to go to the final destination which will be about another 15 min trip.

I guess my question is should I use 2 dowel rods to go the final structure.

I hope this makes sense.

I'm also attaching a picture in case any one has any other suggestions. I tried to erase the name of the company so please excuse the top part that is erased.

Thanks is advance
