I've read so many photo descriptions on CC about finding inspiration for cakes from all kinds of non-cakey things...from gift wrap and bedding to wrought-iron fences. I would love to see pictures of the inspiration along with the finished product. It'll be fun to see how the decorators here use their creativity. Please share!

Here's one for me:

I tried to mimic the ornate look and 3D effect of this guest book on a pumpkin carriage cookie.

I was perusing cakes on CC a few days ago and someone took the scroll pattern from the Wendy's sign and put it on the side of the cake. It was very elegant. I had to Google Wendy's to look at. Sure enough it was the logo. Who knew. I stop and look at everything twice. Remembering it is another story.

That is so funny. I had to Google it, too, because I couldn't picture the scroll in my head. Even after the small images popped up, I couldn't see the scroll. (I was expecting it to be 3D and in yellow for some reason.) I never noticed it before. What a fun place to find inspiration!

These are all incredible! Thank you all for sharing your ideas. DianeLM, your cake is amazing and I love the interpretation of the flowers. Your directions on how to blow edible glitter onto the cake had me laughing out loud, too. icon_lol.gif

Abra526, your baby animals cake is darling. I especially love how the pig turned out.

CakesByLJ, both of your cakes are beautiful. I love your interpretation of the invites!

Cocobean, I would love to see yours if you're able to figure out a way to post it!

These are so fun to look at, like eye candy! Keep them coming, please!

Crisseyann, I love how the cake turned out, and your daughter did an amazing job with the transfer! I've got to learn to do those FBCTs.

Crazyladybaker, those cookies are awesome! I can definitely see the inspiration from the bag, but they still have their own little punch. Very cute!

I think this one is really cool. It was posted by Tracyj, and you may have already seen it because it's one of today's most "favorited" photos.
