ok, I understand that the heat from my hands are warming the fondant and making it sticky as I work with it... but how can I keep this from happening?

I grease my hands up with crisco...and have to reapply often. and I hate greasy hands but its the only way to get it to not stick. Maybe cornstarch or powdered sugar would work the same way too.

Are you making your fondant? You may need to add more powdered sugar...

yes slather your surface with crisco also make sure your rolling pin is greased too. also if you are rolling your fondant back onto your rolling pin to transfer onto the cake, i like to take a little crisco and rub it on the face up part of the fondant so when its rolled onto eachother it doesn't stick to itself. I have had this happen and you have to start all over.
