Hello everyone. Last night I made fondant stars & layed them out on wax paper to dry. I plan on heating up jewelry wire (18 gauge) & inserting into the stars Saturday morning (this is my 1st time making fondant stars). My concern is that I didn't use half gumpaste & half fondant - will the fondant stars dry hard enough to stand up on their own? I am inserting the wire into coffee straws then into the cake.

Any suggestions? icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance! icon_smile.gif

I always put the wires into the stars when the fondant or gumpaste is still soft. If fondant is left out long enough, it does get hard. Big problem will be trying to put wires in hard fondant.
