I have tried two recipes of BC and they both came out gritty. The second try I mixed it forever. As many comments suggested. Any recipes out there that I can use that are not gritty. I need for filling and crumb coating. If you use IMBC can that set out and can you use it for crumb coating.....

I use Indydebi's recipe and it is great, never gritty no matter how long i beat it.. But i have made a few recipes that if i beat it to long they do get gritty, so i stick with what i know is good..

What bc recipe are you using? I warm the milk (I actually use half & half) and add the dream whip to the warm liquid, then add it to the powder sugar. HTH

I had a gritty batch once and after some research and another trip to the store it turns out it was a bad batch of powdered sugar. If you're using generic you may try a name brand. After I switched brands I've never had a gritty problem and I've used sugar shack and indydebi's recipes.
