I need to make figures with white and green stripe tops for a cake next week. I've made the bodies White, but now need the green stripes. I tried rolling fondant but I didn't feel it looked neat enough. I tried green paste colour but it was too dark and looked black. When I mixed a bit of vodka it looked better. Would that be ok to paint on or will it bleed?

it should be fine to paint on. I've just painted stripes onto a fondant top and it hasnt bled. Take a piece of left over fondant and do a couple of test strokes. I also watered mine down with vodka

I use my food writers for small stuff like that, I find them easier to use for straight lines than a brush.
