I am trying to make the mummy cake using the teddy bear pan. When I put the "wraps" on with the buttercream it looks so messy...not neat and tight like the pictures I have seen. What is the secret? What am I doing wrong?

Oh, do you have the big tip.........you know too put bc on the cake...........use that with the flat edge side and it makes nice neat mummy wraps...I don't know the correct tip name but its huge.....

If it's not workin with bc, try cutting strips of fondant instead. And first attempts at any method usually don't look like the inspiration - maybe ur will be a messy mummy, more scooby doo style!

Is this the one you are talking about?

It looks like they are doing the mummy strips very close together, maybe just right on the edge of each other.

Are you doing yours too far apart or not really in a pattern?

Also as was mentioned above, if the bc isn't working and you don't mind fondant, you can always use this idea for doing the strips.
