Can someone direct me to a video or simple instructions to make a closed book cake. I want to put an edible image on the front. Harry Potter. Thanks!

I can't help with the edible image part, but this should help. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-628199.html
After making one stacked book cake I would put the pages on the cake before the cover the next time. But that's just my preference.

Thank You, I did see that post previously, but it doesn't make simple sense to me! I already know how to do the edible image, just need to figure out the cake part.

I actually did a Harry Potter book...

just cover your cake in white fondant, then a piece for the side and top that is slightly larger than the covered cake, which you kinda fold under to look like a cover, then a strip along the bottom to look like the bottom cover. If you have a more specific question, let me know. I also have a stack of books cake in my gallery. icon_smile.gif

Thank you, I think it was the bottom cover that had me confused. So there is no fondant under the cake, you just roll out some and wrap it around the bottom to make it look like the bottom cover? Got it!

Yeah, I just used a clay extruder gun to make the strip even. icon_smile.gif

Can't wait to see it...you just need to upload it in the gallery, it hadn't been letting you attach pics to the posts for a while.... icon_smile.gif
