I am on my knees begging. Can anyone help? I'm making gumpaste beer cans for a cooler cake (next Friday 10/24). I've got the tops cut off the cans. Thought I could wrap the gumpaste around it, let it dry, pull it off then make a can lid, but my plan isn't working well. I'm using lots of cornstarch to keep it from sticking, so the stuff is sliding all over the place...it is stretching and I've got finger print lumps everywhere. Why, oh, why couldn't she have wanted bottles? I do nice bottles.

Does anyone have tips to make this work better? icon_sad.gif

I have never tried this but you have a top cut off the can? Why not try molding the gumpaste to the inside of the can? So that this way it dries in the mold(can) and it will have the impression of the top. HTH

I was going to try this with a mailing tube and wrap parchment paper around the tube to slide the mold after I was done forming it around the tube. Let me know how yours works. Mine is for the 30th of Oct.
