I am new to the cake making/decorating business, and my friend has given me this big task to make a cake in the shape of Jamaica and Iced in the Jamaican flag. As anyone any ideas of how I should start and what is needed? It's for her husbands 50th.

Find a clipart of the country of Jamaica.Print it off and super impose it on a photocopier like 200% or bigger.Cut it out...Bake slab cakes and piece them together and then lay the paper cut out ontop to trace around and cut.Decorate acording to the flag colors or whatever you want.

slab cakes are flat and usually rectangular cakes 2 inches in height like a 9 inch by 13 inch or 11x15 and 12x18..Carve the shape after you have iced a slab cake on the board.
