Does anyone have any good recipes for a white cake that is smooth and dense in texture (like a pound cake)? I don't want anything crumbly or aerated like a normal cake - but I also don't want a full on pound cake bc they are always so yellow. Any help, anyone?

Thanks!

Have you tried the "durable" cake recipe here on CC.com?

It is a doctored-cake mix, but absolutely delicious, heavy, and moist. It's dense enough to carve easily for 3D and topsy turvey cakes, and - in my opinion - tastes better than a regular pound cake recipe. You can alter the flavor by your choice of pudding mix and flavorings. I get perfectly white by using a white BC cake mix and white chocolate pudding.
