Question...I have a customer who can not eat any type of dairy...are there recipes for this type of cake and frosting? What are my options?
Cake--I use an egg & dairy free recipe (from here--recipe link below), but I've only ever used it for a little boy & he's just sooooo happy to have cake I really couldn't tell you how it taste. Parents said it was good, but hey with a limited amount of options for them I just don't know for sure.
Buttercream--I use my recipe with ONLY crisco & add butter flavoring (Wilton's) & my other flavorings.
side note--let it bake for the time said in the recipe or the cake will stick to the pan, it's happened to me, I took it out early because the toothpick came out clean, cake stuck.
ALSO!!!! I'd let the person see the recipe to make sure there isn't anything else to be concerned about.
