I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this problem...coloring swiss buttercream is not as easy as regular buttercream
I need to make black swiss buttercream. I was thinking of using powdered food coloring but not sure if it would work. I was thinking of gel food coloring but not sure if that would work either? It seems like swiss buttercream doesn't like dark colors
any ideas? thanks!
I am not sure you could ever add enough color to SMBC to get black without making it break down. It does resist regular food coloring because of the amount of fat in it. I use Candy Colors in order to be able to get darker than a pastel. I have used Wilton and Chefmaster brands successfully.
