I'm making a cake for a challenge at the my job and the cake will be made to resemble a hotel. The bottom tier will be a 10 inch square cake and the top two ties will all be 8 inch squares. How much support will I need? I was thinking of putting rods into the bottom and middle layer and inseriting one long dowel rod that will go through all of the cakes. Is this correct?

TIA

Thanks for the quick responce.

Should I insert more than one long dowel through the top since it's an 8 inch cake?
