Love, Love, Love this cake. So elegant! But, how do you cut a tall cake like this to serve? Would you make the slices 1x1x6 (or whatever the height is)? I suppose you could put each tier on a 2 inch styrofoam circle to get the height instead of the actual cake being that tall. (Ice & decorate the styrofoam as if it were cake).

Look forward to hearing your thoughts or experiences.

for a 6" tall cake i put a board with dowels in the middle at the 3" mark. if it's 8" tall i do the same thing, just at 4" mark. So there are really two cakes in there, just decorated as one. Then i cut and serve each one individually.

Most plates that cake is served on are not big enough for a 6" peice of cake, so making it smaller in height really helps on that.
