my cupcakes tend to drift to one side. i tried the 400 temp first and then lowering, but they still drifted even after they rose.
This might sound like a silly question, but are they all leaning to the same direction?
It could actually be an unlevel oven.
When it is cool, set a level inside to see if thats it.
are you using a convection oven? The high flowing air can cause this b/c it's pushing the batter around
Have you verified that your oven is level? (and make sure the rack is too, i've heard of some peoples ovens being level but their rack is bent so it's not level)
Also check your oven racks and your pans for level.
Are you using convection? Sometimes the force of the blowing air will cause cupcakes to rise unevenly.
