I'm doing a Ravens themed football cake for a friend of mine and was wondering how can I get gold colored fondant? I only have local access to Wilton colors. I was a little worried about the purple to because I always seem to get a bright purple...maybe add a touch of black to darken it?

I'm undecided whether to do a green square cake with field lines and the ravens symbol in the middle all in BC. My other idea was to do it in fondant with colorflow raven in the middle with some purple and gold stripes coming out from it.

Most likely, I'm overthinking all of this. I'm sure it's going to be a very simple cake icon_smile.gif I just know the colors could ruin the entire thing if they don't turn out just right!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

To make a gold color use a touch (just a touch) of orange to yellow fondant. Also, I made a deep purple using a lot of Violet. I can't remember if I added black or not but you probably could to deepen it...or maybe navy.
