what butter and how many cups of sugar?

Have you done a search for "7-Up Cake" and compared the recipes? A quick search and I found a number of recipes that seemed to be for a bundt cake. is that what you're trying to make?

I have this recipe at home. I'm at work now so I can't tell all that might be wrong with it. But I do know that where it says "loooooong time" in your recipe, it says 20 minutes in my recipe.

I'll check the rest later.

I am trying to make the top layer for my 2 layer sheet cake. I made the chocolate cake and it turned out fine. I never thought it would be for a bundt cake only. I will look around and see what other sheet cake recipe I can find. I am really not a fan of box cakes. Thanks!!!!

Yes, my recipe is also for a bundt cake. Though it's not what you need I'll post my recipe for anyone who wants it as it's actually my absolute favorite bundt cake.

3 Sticks Butter, room temp
3 Cups Sugar
5 Whole Eggs, room temp
15 Oz Flour
2 Tbsps Lemon Extract
3/4 C 7-up®

Preheat oven to 325°

Cream butter and sugar together for a full 20 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add flour and extract.
Fold in 7-up.

Pour into well greased 12-cup bundt pan.
Bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Cool in pan on rack until it pulls away from sides.
Invert onto plate.

NOTE: This cake is the perfect cake to use as a lemon-soak cake.
Just make a lemon juice enhanced simple syrup. Poke skewer holes into the bottom of the cake while it is still warm and in the bundt pan.
Pour some syrup over. After inverting the cake, brush more syrup over surface of warm cake.
Drizzle with lemon flavored glaze.
