Any suggestions on how to make this?
http://trafalgar-group.co.uk/totalwipeout.aspx

Soccer ball pans - got 'em.

Red fondant? Any way *not* to have to try covering them in red fondant?
Would a pourable fondant work better?
Red colored, white-chocolate ganache?

Threaded UPC piping with shelf for the balls to sit on?
This is the scariest part - I've never made anything with a need for this kind of structural support.

The water will be several large sheet cakes, in blue BC.

Any and all thoughts appreciated!!!

I would cover them like a cake ball. You can get red chocloate.
