SoI have to make a red velvet wedding cake. Most recipies are written using the watery red food coloring found in grocery stores. My recipe calls for 1/4 cup--how much Americolor super red should I use? I'll add additional water to bring the volume up to the 1/4 cup.
TIA

i measure out the 1/4 cup of water and then add the americolor until it "looks" right. not sure how much it really is, but a few drops usually does the trick

The recipe I have actually calls for 2 oz. I always use 1 and its plenty red.
