Stiff Buttercream For Dam Before Filling?

I don't need any buttercream other than to dam my cake layers. I normally use sugarshack's recipe but wanted to know if indydebs can be stiffened up as well?
I only need enough to dam so I may have to try and figure out a way to halve the recipe I use...

It doesn't matter , just add a lot of powder sugar to stiffen it up, then make a rope, by hand rolling it .
