My sister asked me to make a cake for a friend's baby shower. The friend loves (and owns) dachshunds. I was thinking of making it look like a dog basket with a mommy and baby dachshund. Has anyone made one of these little dogs out of gumpaste? Any tips or pics? Failing that - any other advice?

I have made these before and it is really easy. I actually own 2 myself, a miniature black and tan and a wired haired, that looks like willy nelson. I will try my best to e-mail the instructions to you if you will send me your e-mail address. my email address is [email protected].

Since it is for a baby shower, it should maybe done with soft colors.

That is the cutest dachshund cake I have ever seen!! It captures dachshunds perfectly!!!!!!

I just can't believe it was done for a first communion! lol. Lucky little girl who gets to have a different kind of design for her first communion.
