Is sanding sugar the same as the colored sugars I see at the grocery? I didn't have any last year when I piped royal on gingerbread snowflakes...so I just used regular sugar. They were pretty but maybe better with sanding? Is is so big in the grains that it compromises the texture of eating the cookie? if that makes any sense... LOL. Please answer me. icon_wink.gif

I know there are a lot of different sizes to the sanding sugar crystals. Some are quite large, while others are very fine. Mostly, the ones I use are comparable to regular table sugar crystals. I buy all of mine at a local craft store, and most are CK brand.
