Does anyone have a great amaretto filling recipe? I have a wedding coming up and the bride has requested this. I actually had amaretto at my wedding but the lady who made my cake has moved away so I can't ask her and it was to die for. Thank you for any help.

There in another thread about adding alcohol to your cake and some one gave info about how to add it to your icing.
Here is the thread. Good luck.

I made an amaretto filling recently. For filling an 8"round cake, I melted 2 tbl butter and added 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds. Stir over medium heat in a small skillet until toasted and golden brown. Then I just beat together 3 tbl butter, 2 cups confectionery sugar, and 2 tbl amaretto. Stir in butter and almond mixture. Add milk to make good spreading consistency. HTH
