If I frost my cake in buttercream on Thursday, can it sit on my countertop until the Saturday delivery?

depends on the type of BC you make. If it is just butter, shortening, vanilla, & sugar then yes it will be fine. but if there is any milk, cream, cream cheese, or egg whites (meringue from actual eggs) then no it will not be ok.
