I have been asked to make two square cakes for twin boys. What size square tin do I need to use and how many layers. So if I have 7inch tin do I make 3 cakes? I am a complete beginner at this so any advice would be welcome and then how do I calculate fondant?

according to the cake serving chart a 6" square (2 layers of cake) serves 18 people a 8" square serves 32 people I think 2 cakes of the 8" will serve 50 people it says more, but at birthdays I think people serve larger slices than at weddings. Hope this helps
