Hi There
Can anyone tell me, if I melt fondant in the microwave, to pour onto cupcakes, do I add colouring paste before I melt it, or afterwards?
Many thanks
Yep, after. Also, before you pour onto your cupcakes let the mixture cool a bit to thicken up like pancake syrup. Otherwise it will be a very thin coat and you will have to reapply or it'll just slide off.
You can melt the rolled fondant in the mircowave? I'm here and just want to clarify. Thanks!!
No, it's not rolled fondant. Here's a link to a tutorial, omit the spaces

The instructions do not allow for the fondant to be melted in the microwave. This fondant is very delicate, the type used on petit fours. You will end up with gritty icing.

Ok now I'm confused. I thought I saw somewhere that you can microwave rolled fontant with water, and melt it down to liquid, that you can pour over cupcakes.
I melted MFF in the microwave, did not add anywater to it and used it on chocolate cupcakes. The taste was to die for.
Thanks for all of the replies. I think I'll have a go and microwaving rolled fondants and see what happens :-0
I have seen rolled fondant melted before and cupcakes dipped in it. I personally haven't tried it yet, but would love to see everyone's results.
