doesn't the cake dry out without any icing on the outside? it's a neat look though. you'd think they'd have made all the fillings the same proportion though (one on the top tier is skinnier)

Very unappealing to the eye in my opinion.

More work for the florist than the cake decorator in that one!!

Maybe this was for someone who doesn't like icing - occassionally I get some of those requests (i.e. can you make icing that isn't so sweet!)....this solves that problem icon_biggrin.gif

Well - that is one way of making a cake fit a budget - big savings on decorating time. LOL. I can't say I am a big fan of it myself.

Almost as bad as Chelsea's. Neither of them are my style.

don't like it...don't like it at all...lol. Looks like the baker forgot they had this job and had 15 minutes to do it!

suesweet Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:01am

icon_eek.gif. Wow I guess I have bad taste then. I swooned when I saw it. Lol!
I can see this in different flavors and colored icings too to match wedding colors.

theonlynameleft Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:08am

I really liked it too - thought it looked nice and warm and rustic like, that sounds weird. But I really did like it! Definately wouldn't be able to make it in advance! icon_biggrin.gif

Mommy2ThreeBoys Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:10am

To me it looks like someone forgot to ice the cake. It looks unfinshed to me.

Mommy2ThreeBoys Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:12am

p.s. I agree, if your gonna have a "naked" cake you'd think all the filling would be the same size all the way down the cake. It almost looks like they forgot a spot here and there on it.

rosita6882 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:42am

I like it too. I think its unique. Sometimes things that are imperfect are beautiful in their own way, and for me this is one of them.

Tracy7953 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:42am

What are they thinking?

Ahh, what do you know about cake decorating anyhow?? JUST KIDDING!!! icon_smile.gif Love ya, Babe!!! I agree with you - it does look unfinished.

Mommy2ThreeBoys Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 5:54am

LOL! Oh go watch a NKOTB video, it'll make ya feel better! icon_wink.gif ha ha ha ha ha Love ya too!!

teresa13 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 6:00am

If your are going to have a cake that looks like this - who needs a cake decorator????? The bride or her mother could slap this thing together an hour before the wedding. So much for artistic talent icon_cry.gif

cakelady48 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 6:10am

I don't like this at all,,nothing appealing about it. Frankly I'm very surprised that it's a celebrity cake. Can't call this cake decorating. I would never agree to do something like this. But...to each their own

tinygoose Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 6:49am

Oh no, was she on a tight budget? looks like it. Sorry I don't mean to be mean, but it looks like she skimped on the cake. Maybe it would be better in chocolate, at least you'd have a contrast.

Vanaya Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 6:51am

I'm not a fan of it either... I like the idea but I don't think it was executed very well.
just my opinion...

mireillea Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 10:43am

I think it looks cheap. Just imagine you are a guest and get that on your plate. Without the flowers - that actually create the look - it looks dull and unappealing IMO.

neelycharmed Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 11:05am

I like it, thumbs_up.gif
I saw in an interview that she wanted a homemade cake with a homemade look, and she loved it..
So, if the bride is happy, then everyone is happy icon_smile.gif

mimi4bye Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 11:39am

I don't like it at all. icon_sad.gif Uggggg a leeeeeee!

CakeDiva101 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 12:01pm

It looks like: OMG! We forgot the cake! Let's trow something toguether before she gets here! A bunch of flowers with some cake in between. I'm sorry...I just don't care for it. thumbsdown.gif

lil_suz Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 12:10pm

hahah that saves a llloottt of time haha

cakes47 Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 12:11pm

I guess if it was done neatly & evenly it wouldn't be so bad.
As is, I think it looks just like an afterthought mess. icon_rolleyes.gif

johnson6ofus Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 12:30pm

thumbsdown.gif that's it thumbsdown.gif

Omicake Posted 19 Sep 2010 , 12:50pm
