Buttercream Cake Pops?

OK - I know the cakes balls are dipped in candy melts - but my family is a group of buttercream-aholics. icon_surprised.gif

Can one melt buttercream frosting - dip your cake balls in it & then will the buttercream re-set?

Thoughts?
