I just got off the phone with my childs volleyball coach..she wants to make a cake...she wants it to be a duffle bag with Jersey hanging out and a volleyball on the ball(half showing) and knee pad beside the bag.

I have never made anything like this...what size pans do I use, what shape? I only need to feed 30-40 people. HELP!!! I am overwelmed!

That is quite the request! And only for 30 ish people. Hmm. You may want to do a 1/2 sheet and do the duffle bag ball and jersey as figures made out of gumpaste/fondant on top. OR you could find a photo of this image and do a FBCT. The third option is to do a 3D cake. For the duffle bag, I would start by baking your cake in 1 or 2 loaf pans and stack, then add a 6 or 8 inch round on each end and carve to the shape of a duffle bag. The jersey would just be fondant coming out of the bag. Wilton make the ball pan (just use 1/2) and make it look like a volleyball with fondant or BC. You can buy it at Michaels with you 40% off coupon.
Please post pic when you're done - have fun!
