Well I am a complete newbie to the site, but I recently posted a picture of my wedding cake to the galleries and have already received 10 comments in less than 24 hours, so I thought I'd start a thread as well and ask a question.

When my now wife and I were thinking about a cake, we had mixed feelings. Mostly because of quantity and the fact we'd rather be on the dance floor, a typical cake did not seem like what we wanted.

Enter Sweet Lauren Cakes: http://sweetlaurencakes.com/

We designed with her the idea of a cake pop wedding cake. Given we had a very large wedding of over 375 people, we wanted a lot of cake pops, but also wanted a way to present it like a real wedding cake. Lauren magically made it happen and created the stand which you see in the following photo I posted on Cake Central galleries.

Now for my question, do you think this might be a new trend in wedding cakes? Thanks!

I really like it! It is so creative and unique. How are the cake pops attached to the base, are there little holes the sticks sit in? I think its very pretty while still maintaining a elegant look to it.

I think YOU might be starting the trend! It's beautiful and so elegant at the same time. You'll be in the MOST SAVED section in no time.
