I'm working on a firemen cake and will be making a dalmation dog.I really don't want to add the spots with fondant or gumpaste.Is there any other way?I was thinking of just using he writing markers?

If I made the dalmation dog out of fondant or gumpaste, I would use thinned down americolor gel coloring and paint them on. Depending on the dog size, you can even take a toothbrush, dip it into the thinned gel and spackle it on by taking your finger and brushing it along the brush to make it spray. Practice on paper first! Also, I like the writing pens but if the thing I am writing on is soft, it doesn't work well.
