What consistency should it be? When do you apply it before it's on the cake or after?

Any tips on how to prevent streaks? What do you all apply it with?

What exactly are you trying to do? Give the fondant a shiny look or attach it to the cake?

To attach things I use an adhesive using a small amount of gum paste diluted in water. To clean my fondant up, remove any dust, make it shiney or to apply shimmer dust I use Vodka. I used to use pure lemon or orange extract but it would evaporate to quickly in my dish. To apply, I use a paintbrush. icon_smile.gif

Thanks everyone; I'm sorry I didn't say it is for the shine. So all I need is the vodka; I think the corn syrup and vodka is to make it look like shiny plastic (don't quote me).

Apply before or after placed on cake? Are you getting streaks?
