I need to make a foot ball cake and I bought this one from wilton

But I want to make a 3d football cake but I don't think this one would work because it is really big. Does anyone know exactly how to do this this is what I really want to make http://www.azcakes.com/images/sports/5.gif

I have not done one of those, but it looks like you could just make two and place them together and frost as usual. That is what I would do. HTH!

Agreed, if that is larger than you wanted you might be better off just carving it. Putting two together is probably the most straight forward way to get as close as possible to the right shape to begin with.
