I need some help, I am going to be attempting to make my first topsy-turvy cake in a couple of weeks. Is there a best cake to use (works best for the cutting and shaping) ? And really if there are any other tips or pointers that you can give me, PLEASE do. Thanks.

I really like the Durable Cake for 3D and Wedding Cakes that is here under recipes. Try this tutorial for topys turvy cakes:

Hi meggiepeggie, Welcome to CC icon_biggrin.gif

I have only made one topsy turvy to date and I used the exact tutorial that Karen421 posted and found it very helpful. I used cream cheese pound cake for the topsy turvy and in my photos is a mug of hot chocolate that was a carved cake and for that one I used a banana cake. princess.gif
