Hi, is there a serving guide for 6 inch tall cakes? Thanks.

since a 6 inch cake really wont fit on a dessert plate. I usually place a board in between and make two 3inch layers. Not sure how everyone else does it.

I think 6 inch tall cakes are like peg818 says: two cakes of the same diameter stacked on top of each other with a board in between (of course).

I've heard professional cake decorators say that even though some of their tiers are 8 inches in height, nobody gets an 8" tall slice.

I'd use the wedding serving guide for 2" tall double-layer cakes (4" total) and add 50% for 6" tall cakes.
