Ok, so I'm making a birthday cake for my Mother-in-law. She does quilts professionally and is incredibly talented with making her own. For her cake I want to make a box cake with the blanket coming out or something like that. I found where I can get an edible image and I was going to put a picture of one of her favorite quilts as the "blanket" onto some fondant.

Any ideas of how I should arrange the blanket or how to incorporate it somehow?

Thanks in advance!!!

You could do a tiffany type box with the blanket coming out -something like this:

I love this one for a quilter (saved in my faves) It could be adapted to fit your mother-in law:

Nice idea, have fun and please post pic here after!

Those are both very cute cakes. I will definitely post pictures once I'm done. I can't wait. I hope it turns out ok. This is also my first experience with an edible image. Yikes!

We have always used cedar chest for handmade quilts.. so I invision a cake that looks like a cedar chest, with the quilt hanging out of it.

Wow, I didn't even think about that! How would I make the top for a cedar chest? Would it essentially be the same as a gift box?
