The only MMF recipe I know is a bag of marshmallows and a bag of pwd sugar...with 2 TBS of water.
I have always made it while my cake is resting after I put the icing on...but I think it would be so much easier to make it ahead of time. I have only tried that with chocolate and had NO luck.
SO...how do I make it in advance and store it so it is still good to cover the cake?
AND...I saw someone said they mix it with their kitchen aid mixer? PLEASE SHARE...OMG this would be a lifesaver!!!
I tried making MMF in my KA before and it burnt out my motor. My Cusinart handles it with no problems though. Just use the dough hook and grease EVERYTHING with shortening including the hook. Use a low speed. Works great!
I make my MMF ahead of time and let it settle AT LEAST overnight. After it's the right consistancy, form it into a ball and cover the outside with a thin layer of shortening. Wrap it in plastic wrap and then place it in a ziplock bag. Just leave it on the counter and it will be fine.
