According to Bakewise:
all-purpose flour, bleached is 4.4 oz/cup
all-purpose unbleached is 4.4 oz/cup
cake flour is 4.1 oz /cup

All flours are spooned and leveled when weighed.

as for sugar
confectioners sugar is 4 oz/cup
granulated white is 7 oz/cup

check out www.onlineconversion.com - LOTS of good conversions for many foodstuffs; also converts to US, UK and metric measurements.

Ounces and cups are two different type of measurements. One measures weight (how heavy is it?) and one measures volume (how much is in there?).

There is no one answer to the question "How many ounces in a cup?"

Do you mean how many ounces in a cup of nails or a cup of feathers? A cup of sifted flour or a cup of packed brown sugar?

See what I mean? icon_wink.gif

Google this. There are many charts out there you can print off for future reference.
