I am at a loss for how to carve pages in a book cake I'm working on. I do know that I will be covering the cake with MMF but don't really know how to make the grooves for the pages and even more, make them geometric and straight... Help? Please? I'm not sure where to even start....

I recently made a book cake, you'll find the pic on here. I covered it in fondant and just used the back of a knife to make indentations in the fondant for the pages. I don't think it matters if the pages aren't perfectly parallel, it adds to the look.

Thank you... I was thinking that it might be just that simple also. Did you use any kind of dust to make the pages look worn or antiqued?

I painted on a little gold lustre dust. I also pressed the chocolate fondant onto leather look vinyl to get an old leather look (hard to see in the photo). I glazed the cover with confectioners glaze too.
