Hi everyone,

I am new here. I am not a talented cake decorator like you guys but I would like to start a business baking other products out of my kitchen.

I was wondering if someone here could tell me what the latest law on that is here in Oklahoma. I am in Cleveland County if that matters.

Can I bake items in my kitchen to deliver and sell? Do I need some kind of a license for that?

Thanks a bunch,

Here is the relevant OK law:
http://www.ok.gov/health/Protective_Health/Consumer_Protection_Division/Retail_Foods/
http://www.ok.gov/health/documents/Chapter%20257%20OSDH%20Code%202009%2009-0515.pdf

It looks like you are good if you bake for a church or charity bake sale, but otherwise page 119 of the second link above specifically prohibits using a private home as a food service business.

you can't bake from the family kitchen....you can add on a separate kitchen...with triple sinks etc...on your home and bake from there.
