I don't decorate cakes that often and as of right now I have probably 100's of dollars worth of dried colorful hunks of fondant littering my work space. I have tried double wrapping in Saran wrap and then putting in a sealable plastic bag inside a Tupperware container. Still it hardens.

any foolproof storage methods out there or even ways to make it stay softer longer? BTW I live in AZ if that matters.

Thx

Irene

i always rub some shortening on my hands, and then rub the ball of extra fondant before I wrap and store it - seems to help it stay pliable a little bit longer.

Have you tried microwaving it back to life?

Microwave? Never thought of it. I've also never thought of the crisco idea. Thx!
