Cake Mix In Half

Has anyone tried to cut a box cake mix in half by weighing it. I am always having so much extra and I was thinking about doing this and I just wanted to see if anyone had tried it. Thanks!

All the time. Weighing is the best. I love my scales, you might try 1/3 also because of the eggs either way 1/2 and egg is 2 T. of beaten egg. (save the rest for breakfast)

Sorry for the typo 1/2 AN egg is 2 Tablespoons.
