I'm making my friends wedding cake and she originally wanted white stacked cake with criss crossed ribbon and thistle, but now she has changed her mind about the thistle. her bridesmaids will be claret so she wants a flower with the deep claret colour instead (she'll also have claret feathers in the wine glasses on the tables to tie it in). The ribbon will be black and I think the cake will be so much nicer.
any ideas for a Claret flower? I was thinking possibly gerbera, but would they look unnatural as claret?

There was a cake in the favorites in the past day or two that had claret gerber daisies...very pretty!
